TORQUE Book for Fasteners

Product Details
Author: IFI
Date Published: April 2013
Media Type: Books
Product Type: Reference Book

This book is the industry standard resource that combines all of the engineering data needed to calculate the tightening torque for all types of inch and metric fasteners in a single volume.

The book starts out by explaining the classic torque calculation formula. It then provides all of the engineering data tables containing the variables related to K factors, thread sizes, and fastener yield strengths needed for calculating torque.

The book includes sections how to prevent stainless steel galling, values for tightening tapping screws, values for tightening set screws, an explanation on how to perform tests on completed assemblies to determine original torque values used to tighten the bolts.

This book can answer most all the questions and is invaluable information on fastener tightening.

Get the App:

iPhone – Torque App for Fasteners
Android – Torque App for Fasteners

This application for iPhone and android smartphones pulls together all of the engineering data needed to calculate a tightening torque for all types of inch and metric fasteners in an easy to use app. It covers inch sizes from #0 through 4 inches and metric fastener sizes M1.6 through M64, sixty-one (61) inch fastener material grades, fifty-five (55) metric fastener property classes, and eighty-two (82) fastener finishes. Just select inch/metric, fastener size, fastener strength, and fastener finish, and click CALCULATE. No more digging through books, using a calculator, or worse, guessing at recommended fastener tightening values.
